There is naturally a mundane tie to his roommate, Bruce. However, my most pertinent connection I've seen is his difficult ex-relationship with Jasmine. This was ended on account of his crossdressing. She just really couldn't figure out how to deal with his feminine side. Once she found out about it, that is. Strangely this seems to have the opposite effect on his and Rachel’s friendship- though it is unclear if there are ulterior motives at hand. Ashley drifts around through life, and many of his connections appear to be the result of being in the right/wrong place at the right/wrong time.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
It would be more fun to do a write up on Ashley and his feminine persona, as the relationship they must have would be intriguing. Such an analysis is out of my domain, however. Either way, it is always good to explore and find one’s self, though I wonder if he’s going to be ready to handle whatever he finds in there.
